Scafell is a popular destination for walkersA walker has died in a fall on Scafell in the Lake District.
The incident happened on Broad Stand, a steep crag which has been the scene of previous accidents.
Volunteers from Wasdale and Cockermouth rescue teams were called out on Saturday afternoon, after reports a 49-year-old man had fallen 30ft feet.
Once at the scene, rescuers found the man, who was in a party of five and thought to be from the Gloucestershire area, had suffered fatal injuries.
