As some of you are aware Google Maps are a good source of information about an area, you can also plot routes with it and see a satellite image of the area which is helpful for landmarks.
Well now they have released freeware software for mobile phones a portable version of the online system.
I have been testing how good it is and finding out how to use it, the software is very good and easy to use so easy that it helped me do some training, it plotted a route for me from Guildford to Frimley in about 15 seconds that's faster than most sat nav systems.
It also had a sat nav option, if your phone has GPS built in it comes close to finding your point on the map, there also is a way for it to tell you latitude and longitude which with what we are doing could be helpful.
